remembering my youth

A great reference series.
I bought the 1st Dover edition back in 1965. Each of the 5 volumes cost was 2.75$, remember at that time gold was at 35$/ounce, 14 $ for the 5 volumes, which means 0.4 ounces of Gold, and see what that would cost you today!
The money bills were put in an envelope and sent to Folkways by mail, and 40 days later, by ship, the package arrived in Italy.
Mail order worked this way at that time.
I am glad to find this edition in Amazon, (and it's free! )and hope to find the full series.
It's a pity that the Gutenberg free ebook edition of 1860 only covers 7 out of the 8!!!
